MuseoX – towards a museum of communication, games, post and digital life
Have you ever thought about what things from our digital age will be preserved for posterity?
The MuseoX project, the operations of which are to be launched in 2024, will create a new museum with national responsibility. MuseoX will enhance an understanding of the mediatised world and interaction between people and its transformation. The museum will encourage people to consider how different channels, media, communication methods and content affect our lives as individuals, communities and society.
MuseoX is a joint project between the Finnish Museum of Games and the Rupriikki Media Museum, which are maintained by the Tampere City Historical Museums and the Finnish Postal Museum. The new museum will operate at the Vapriikki Museum Centre in Tampere and on digital platforms online.
The MuseoX project is looking for partners to develop a new and innovative museum experience on site and online.
What could you produce with us for the new MuseoX?
We communicate with various people and organisations through different media every day. Some of the messages are communicated verbally, some through a device. Message threads are stored, at least temporarily, in the memory of our devices or in the cloud.
